ROUTE: Paphos - Choirokoitia (break) - Nicosia (crossing The Green Line) - Mountains of Pentadaktylos - Bellapais (Abbey) - Kerynia (Castle)

Extra charge of 6 Euros per person will be charged during stop at the border crossing for admissions to the museum objects on the Turkish side.

Coaches leave in the morning at around 8:00am - taking you from your hotel and after about an hour from departure using a highway to reach a comfortable first stop in a parking in the village of Choirokoitia - with 30min of free time ( opportunity to take advantage of the bar and toilets) . After next 30min bus reaches Nicosia.

Nicosia

Capital of Cyprus, the only city in the world where for more than 40 years a border line called the Green Line is separating the South of Cyprus from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus - state unrecognized internationally. Passing through Nicosia we can see panorama of the capital city, then we stop at the border to show our passports and after a short stop we enter the Turkish part of Cyprus.

INTERESTING FACT: From the windows of the bus we will be able to see largest Turkish flag which is located on the nearby hills. This flag is even perfectly seen from the windows of an airplane.

Mountains of Pentadaktylos

We climb high into the mountains of Pentadaktylos, fairy like forms attracts everybody's eye. They are rising even up to 1,000m above sea level, the views are even more interesting thanks to the located nearby mysterious ruins of medieval castles, close-by sea creates a picturesque scenery of this area.

Bellapais Abbey

Between those magnificent mountains there is a hidden village of Bellapais. You will visit some of its romantic ruins of an medieval gothic Abbey built in the 13th century by the French Lusignan, who ruled Cyprus in that period.

After guided tour you will have about 30min of free time to enjoy the local scenery and time do some unforgettable photographs.

Then we ride down toward the sea to the beautiful bay of Morphou, where lies the picturesque village of Kerynia.

Kerynia

The last stage of our tour will be beautiful town of Kerynia above which lies the ruins of a Castle/Hold and from the defense walls you can view impressive panorama of the harbor.

We begin with guided tours of the Castle/ Hold. It is a byzantine fortress acquired at the end of the 16th century by Lusinan. In the past it served as a prison, now every visitor has access to visit the building as it holds the role of a museum. In its many rooms there are located many exhibition halls of various cultural monuments of the history of Cyprus - dishes, clothes and even torture tools. One of the most interesting exhibits is the wreck of a ship belonging to the Alexander of Macedon. After the completion of sightseeing you have about 1.5 hour of free time for shopping, sightseeing or a lunch.
