ROUTE: Geroskipou (Church of St. Paraskeva) - Monastery of St. Neofytos - Polis (coffee break) - Latchi (port town) - Baths of Aphrodite

Buses take you directly from your hotel around 9 am to go to only 3 km away to the beautiful village of Geroskipou.

Geroskipou

The name of this beautiful village comes from two Greek words Geros - Old and Kipos - Garden. beautiful Aphrodite gardens are located in this area.

At the main market of Geroskipou is over millennial Church of St. Paraskevi, built in the Byzantine style in 9th century on the top of the ruins of the ancient temple of the goddess Aphrodite. Inside, visitors can admire beautiful frescoes.

NOTE: This church was located on the trail of pilgrims to Palaipafos.

Geroskipou is famous also for its traditional sweet delicacies. Cypriots called them Loukoumi. Main factory which produces them is located in Geroskipou and at the local square you will be able to purchase those sweets.

AGIOS NEOFYTOS MONASTERY – MONASTER ŚW. NEOFYTOSA

It is here where long ago a monk settled down in a stone cave - hermit Neofitos arranged chapel of St. Cross within that cave, which he then expanded and the decorated it with many frescoes. Next to the monastery there is a museum of the Orthodox art.

Polis Chrysochous

Later we will go to the other side of the peninsula of Acamas to continue our tour the picturesque town of POLIS. Polis Chrysochous is located on a grounds which belonged to an ancient city of Marion - and important trade centre. It's a town where everybody can finding something interesting to discover and it is in here where we will take a short break for a coffee. The whole area of Polis is made of beautiful beaches and picturesque villages.

Baths of Aphrodite

From the port we travel to the next attraction - a place called the Baths of Aphrodite. It is in here where according to the local legend, Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty use to enjoy a bath in this natural cave surrounded by fig trees.

Interesting fact: Legend proclaims the one who will wash their face in this small pool will be forever young and beautiful ... and so it does not hurt to try it...

Here you will have some free time to stroll through the beautiful gardens and enjoy beautiful views which spreads across the Acamas Peninsula. You can also optionally go for lunch at the beautifully situated tavern (an additional cost of around 12 - 13 euros per person).

Latchi - Fishing Village - Port

The small fishing village of Latchi - delights tourists who come here with its picturesque harbor. We can enjoy walking or shoping in one of the small tourist shops pleace in the harbour
